God’s Grocery Store!

God’s Grocery Store

As I walked down life’s highway,
I came upon a sign that read God’s Grocery Store as its name.
When I got a little closer, the doors swung open wide, and when I came to myself, I was standing inside.
I saw each of the disciples. They were all standing there. One handed me a basket,
And said, ‘My child shop with care.’
Everything a person needed was in that grocery store, and what you could not carry, you could come back for more.
First I got some PATIENCE.
HEART was in that same row. Further down was CONFIDENCE; you need that everywhere you go.
I go a heap of POWER and FAITH in me and you, and GAME SENSE was a must, I would need lots of that too.
I couldn’t miss the PASSION, for it was all over the place.
And then some STRENGTH to pull me through, and COURAGE to help me run this race.
My basket was getting full but I remembered I needed TRUST, and then I chose COMMUNICATION, for that’s important to us.
My arms were getting tired now but I couldn’t forget LOYALTY.
In order to get me past all this, I knew I could rely on UNITY.
I gathered up some SPEED, and then I found that INNER FIGHT.
I almost missed PRIDE and HONOR, but I saw them just to the right.
Then I started to the counter, to pay my grocery bill. For I thought I had everything I’d need to carry out my greatest WILL.
As I went up the aisle, I saw POISE and put that in. For I knew when I stepped outside, I’d meet with COMPETITION.
DESIRE and SACRIFICE were plentiful. The last things on the shelf, SPORTSMANSHIP was hanging near, so I just helped myself.
Then I asked God, ‘Now how much for these items in my bin?’
HE smiled and said, ‘just use them to help you WIN.’
Every time I face a CHALLENGE, now I know I’ll have everything I need, to OVERCOME ADVERSITY, and ensure that I SUCCEED!!!!

Amen…

A Problem Is A Gift!

7 Nov
Dear Readers,

Yesterday after doing my civic duty to vote in our Presidential  election I trotted off to the mall looking for that perfect white shirt (unsuccessful). But anyway I was in a department store and over heard a conversation in the dressing room that was going on between two women.

One woman was speaking in an unkind judgmental way and I realized and came to understand by her opinions, comments and harsh tones she has led a very blessed life.

I know this sounds crazy but please read on…

I truly believe this woman lacked empathy for others and took a mocking tone regarding someone else’s problems, because her life has been so blessed, shielded and void of life’s true painful experiences…I’m talking about the life altering humbling kind of experiences, the likes of which bring you to your knees coiling in pain….the humiliation of a cheating spouse,  the degradation of being lied to and manipulated for someone’s else own selfish wants, the pain of loving an addict and being rendered helpless to their destructive life and the evil tentacles that reach out from their actions. The kind of pain that either brings you humility and the need for recovery or if you choose bitterness…

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved.
-Helen Keller

Rarely do we look at our problems as a blessing. Today I think it is really important to look at our problems as an opportunity in our life to grow, to become better, creating an opening to a deeper level of happiness through our painful life experiences! It is always important to be appreciative for our problems for they could always be worse but my thought today takes it a bit further, to a different level of trust…to be thankful for your problems not just appreciative for what they are not!

I believe everything happens for a reason, I need to. For God is a good God and he always has a loving plan for us that he has put together without the help of any of the i-technologies (hard to believe, I know).

Today’s Reminder:

“The Chinese word for crisis is written with two characters. The first stands for danger, and the second for opportunity. I will look for the good hidden within everything I encounter.”

“There is no such thing as a problem without a gift for you in its hands.”
-The Courage To Change

Bullying 2!

24 Oct
Dear Readers,

Yesterday one of the blogs I follow their posting was another one of those meaningful coincidence…. titled “Random Acts of Kindness – Day 5”  from the blog of SOMETHINGVILLE.com

It started with a wonderful quote from Anne Frank please see below…

“How lovely to think that no one need wait a moment. We can start now, start slowly, changing the world. How lovely that everyone, great and small, can make a contribution toward introducing justice straightaway. And you can always, always give something, even if it is only kindness!”  ~Anne Frank

The following was my comment…

Your posting has special meaning given my day yesterday! I was at a presentation on Bullying (posting on my blog today 10/23/12)…we are at an epidemic level. Personally I do not understand it…it is so much easier to be kind than to Bully others! Thank you for your post!

With her permission please see her comment back to me…

You’re welcome! I know how hard it is. I was bullied when I was in high school and so many times I wanted to end it all. Feeling helpless and knowing I had to face it every day was terrible. I turned to poetry and writing songs, even that didn’t help much but at least it got me through most days. The rest of them were spent crying and asking myself why I was worthless. Looking back, I see how important it is to educate children on bullying.

Thank you Christine for making my day even sweeter! The world collectively appreciates you found the strength not to “end it all” because of the Bullying in your life. Your positive contributions to life have added much joy reaffirming hope to many!…and especially to me today!

Asklotta and Staff will MIND YOUR BUSINESS today with yet another reminder to be kind and if there is Bullying in your life…Please tell someone!

Again, it has been my pleasure to tell you what to do and what NOT to do!
