Dear Readers,

Monday, October 1st was day one of my on-line Modern Art course given by the MoMA in New York City. The instructor is Larissa Baliliff and for week 1: Van Gogh & Post-Impressionism
What I have learned so far….
Cezanne, Gaugan, van Gaugh, Monet, Seurat – All game changers (rebels) for taking a bold stance in changing art from (the Salon) polished, finished, formal, no brush strokes seen, female nudes as demure to the complete opposite. Bright colors, breaking with traditional rules, lack of finish in appearance, Naturalism, more sensual and psychologically charged.
Can’t wait! The thought of learning/trying something new thrills me to no end! For it provides a new set of eyes to see and filter the world…
The more I read about the Impressionism era the more I think maybe my blog has an “Impressionist style,
focusing on contemporary subject matter
work in a looser, less finished, more spontaneous, or ‘impressionistic’ manner.”
writing about the outdoors and/or what is going on outdoors….but wait, (I just read ahead a little) my blog could be more of the era of symbolism!
Of course all great works of art (my blog) are never appreciated in their time!…Hmmm oh well, that’s how the mop flops!
Asklotta and staff will MIND YOUR BUSINESS today thinking about going on a field trip to The Museum of Modern Art in NYC!
Again, it has been my pleasure to tell you what to do and what NOT to do!
Kindest regards,
President and CEO

I must be continuing in my “ahead of the curve” style then, as I totally appreciate (adore is a better word) your work of art!
