Our Second Amendment…(now with attitude) God Damn It!

7 Aug
Dear Readers,

I was with some friends the other evening enjoying some delicious appetizers and wine when our conversation took us in the direction of the Second Amendment due to a mutual friends Facebook posting. I proclaimed we are not talking about it correctly ladies, one must  talk about it (it sure seems) with an entitled attitude… I said like this…our “Second Amendment Rights…God Damn it” You see EVERYTHING has turned in to  (again please, with attitude) our “RIGHTS…God Damn It.”

“Second Amendment – bearing arms”

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

“However, the Supreme Court has now definitively held that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that weapon for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home. Moreover, this right applies not just to the federal government, but to states and municipalities as well.”

I said it seems as if everyone has lost their sense of intelligence, civility and their moral compass and replaced it with a selfish attitude and entitlement. If they have a “Right” it is theirs to exercise it regardless of what is fair, decent and kind. Make no mistake and please do not be fooled; we live in a very entitled world, in which our judicial system has created, enabled and supports. Never mind YOU bought a cup of hot coffee from a drive-up window, YOU put the cup of hot coffee between your legs and YOU drove off spilling the hot coffee and surprise surprise burned your lap due to decisions YOU made.  The courts reward the stupid and the entitled with their rulings and judgments.  My sister feels that lawsuit in particular was the beginning to the end of America’s true greatness. For now the un-entitled get fortified with the glorification of being financially rewarded for their bad behavior and stupid decisions. What ever happened to whoops “my fault”, or “what an idiot I was to do that!”

Let me state right up front that evening of friends we all believed in the second amendment but with that said, none of us thought for one second our forefathers had any intention of protecting the rights of Americans to purchase a family of Uzi-Sub-Machine Guns that fire off 25 rounds in a second and half.

Nor did we think for one second our forefathers had any presents of mind of protecting the rights of Americans, (the average crazy) from purchasing such said assault weapons off the Internet basically in complete and total privacy from any sane person.

I believe our forefathers’ intention was to protect and support Americans right to protect themselves, their families and their property from danger ensuring “security of a free State.” But it appears to me so many Americans are panicky at the thought of some intelligent application of our rights, the second amendment being one of them.

We are not losing our Second Amendment rights by admitting and acknowledging that when a person buys an Uzi machine gun off the Internet it is not with the intention of going deer hunting or using it for “self-defense within the home.”  And hence as no right to purchase military combat weapons much less off the Internet. I feel it is NOT their right! The second amendment is not being applied with any intelligent thought given our changing and changed society we sadly live in.

I would also like to make another point of mine very clear ensuring the NRA does not get trigger happy and aims at me; I am very happy our military has access to such weapons and those said weapons are available for their use in combat. Like everything else in life there is an appropriate time and place.

As I previously had mentioned, a friend posted on Facebook a day after the horrific shooting in Aurora, CO (movie theater) our right to bear arms and we needed to act now to protect our Second Amendment Rights by clicking “Like”

…I clicked…all right!

I clicked on “PRIVACY”, then “BLOCK”

There simply is no room in my life for someone so stupid and so insensitive. I do believe in our Second Amendment, I just do not believe anyone has a right to exercise it as James Holmes did on the Internet legally purchasing combat Militia arsenal, enabling and empowering him to take out a dozen of innocent people in a blink; with their only crime; being awake at midnight to enjoy some cinema entertainment.

Asklotta and staff is MINDING YOUR BUSINESS today in a state of peaceful “Rights”.

Again, it has been my pleasure to tell you what to do and what NOT to do!

Kindest regards,

Good discussion. I always think that it’s important to remember that “well-REGULATED militia” is as much a part of the second amendment as the “right to bear arms”. Frankly, I think the whole issue is a big political diversion that takes our minds away from more important things like education, tax policies, budget priorities, healthcare, foreign policy, and things like that.

Perfectly said! And I totally agree with you.

To form a “well regulated militia,” the item that is left out of almost every pro-gun argument. Me thinks we have far too many rights today, and not nearly enough responsibility to balance it out.

Exactly t! I think the Gun Co. should take more of a responsibility of where their guns are ending up. No one needs a machine gun except the military forces.
