T.V. Doctors!

27 Mar

Dear Readers,

I am 30 minutes away from my medical degree!….At this point, I’ve watched so much Dr Oz and the Revolution on ABC, my staff and I could advise anyone on any medical woe at this moment in time!  Never give a child Tylenol ( new research pointing to asthma), do not have more then two alcoholic drinks a week (increase the chance of breast cancer), and no caffeine beverages eight hours before you plan to go to bed. I could advise on exercise (the exact ones for very specific problem areas) and recite the mantra “30 grams of protein within 30 minutes of waking up” for a successful day! B12 for energy (plus have your thyroid check), cinnamon, tomatoes, apples for restoring and immune boasting purposes. Red fruits and vegetables for antioxidants and absolutely NO refine sugars..as if I even had to say that. Calcium for women 30 years and older, floss daily ( lower your chances of bowel cancer and heart disease), omega 3 for your brain, vitamin D (to enable calcium absorption) and to prevent cancer. Stay out of the sun, no high heels and limit red meat intake. A handful of nuts 30 minutes before a meal (decrease appetite ) and if your dehydrated your urine will be dark yellow.

But is being inundated with daily medical information helpful or harmful? Does it make people healthier or create health problems? Does it create a more educated patience or create a patience’s false sense of medical confidence? Will we be more incline to ask the right questions while with our doctors or will we not follow our doctors’ orders because we now know better? Will today’s information still be correct in 5 years or even 10 years or will it have caused us harm?….

I don’t know the answers to any of these questions, but …WE MIND YOUR BUSINESS… so i do believe, like everything else in life, anything taken to the extreme has never worked out in the long run or has been in anyone’s best interest!

And as my sister says…”no one is getting off this earth alive.”
It has been my pleasure telling you what to do and what NOT to do!
Kindest regards,
President and CEO
